In 2003, Optimised Operations provided technical expertise pro bono to the Montana Chapter of the Sierra Club regarding the environmental issues related to CBM. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Montana Department of Environment Quality (MDEQ) are examining the environmental impact of exploring and producing Coal Bed Methane (CBM) in Montana.
